Threaded Flange 150# Raised Face (RF) 304 Stainless Steel Flange
The other piece of the lap flange is the support flange. This flange has the same general dimensions (outside diameter, bolt circle, bolt hole size, etc.) as any other flange, but it does not have a raised face. One side, the back, has a slight shoulder with a square cut in the center or tube hole. The front has flats and a bullnose at the center hole to match the rounded corners of the "Stub-end" piece.
Slide the flange portion of the lap flange assembly onto the stub end before welding the sleeve to the adjacent pipe or fitting. The flange itself is not welded or secured in any way. It can be rotated freely to properly align with what it is attached to.
